"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18

By Grace Alone

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

I have heard religion described as man attempting to reach out to God. There are many who strive for acceptance through works in the hopes that they will draw close to their god.

Christianity is different. In Christianity, God reached down to man by sending His only Son to die for our sins. It is only by His grace, His unmerited favor, that we are saved. Grace is not something we have to work for or an achievement that we must meet in order to gain favor with God. Grace is a gift and He is just waiting for us to accept it - by faith.

I am so thankful for His grace.

Amen!What a powerful verse.

Christianity is God reaching men, religion is men reaching God. I thank Him too for He reached out for me.

Lovely picture.

I am thankful for it, too.

I have this same discussion with a person close to me who thinks that it's fine what I believe, but he has "his way" to his beliefs. Please pray for him - there is no other way besides Jesus - The Way...

GOD BLESS!

Blessings Joan...AMEN...so thankful for His aMazing Grace!

I was sidetracked by the other beautiful photos on your other posts below since SONday! Love the PEACE one... but I digress!

With this photo, I see the little plants reaching up to the sun and pleading for water, just as I lift my arms in praise to the SON who gives me plenty and gave His life. He is our Living Water. May Our God save the plants that are dry just as He mercifully rescued and saved us. I'm so grateful that Our LORD reached down and came down to share His gift with us! Beautifully written Joan... thanks!

Peace and JOY,
Peggy

It's all grace. I see it more and more each day the older I get. But for his grace . . .
