"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18

Weekend Reflections ~ July 30, 2011

Reflecting upon God's word.

"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)

At times, all of us are prone to wondering if we are making a difference for Christ's Kingdom. We may think our efforts are in vain. But God's words are effective and powerful. They will accomplish His purposes. Rejoice in that truth!

Father, thank you for your word. We rejoice in the fact that your words will accomplish that which you have purposed. Thank you for allowing us to be your servants, and we pray that we are always obedient to your call. In Jesus name, amen.
